EV Charging points
The type of EV charging point you need will depend on your needs and the type of electric vehicle you own.
AC charging points: These are the most common type of EV charging points. They use alternating current (AC) to charge electric vehicles. AC charging points come in a variety of power ratings, from 3.7 kW to 22 kW.
DC fast charging points: These are faster than AC charging points and can charge electric vehicles up to 80% in just 30 minutes. DC fast charging points use direct current (DC) to charge electric vehicles.
If you have a short commute, you may be able to get away with using a portable charger. If you have a longer commute or if you want to be able to quickly charge your electric vehicle, you will need to use an AC charging point or a DC fast charging point.
When choosing an EV charging point, it is important to consider the following factors:
The power rating of the charger: The power rating of the charger will determine how quickly your electric vehicle can charge.
The type of charger: AC chargers are more common, but DC fast chargers are faster.
The location of the charger: You will need to find a charger that is convenient for you to use.
The cost of the charger: The cost of EV charging points can vary depending on the type of charger and the power rating.
